Windsor Workshop have been commissioned to fabricate a number of Mark Wallinger’s ‘Self’ sculpture, each in a different font. The process involves accurately scaling up the letter ‘I’ in the artist’s chosen font and producing it at precisely Wallinger’s height. We use a number of interesting techniques to produce the pattern, including strickling plaster to create the serif in-the-round, before moulding and casting. Each piece is finished with a polyurethane lacquer and accompanied by a made-to-measure plinth.
